Call Me Merriam Webster

....right.
I actually just steal from MW and add some shady pop culture references to the mix.
But you run with whatever works for you, no?

My oh-so adorable Belen left a little comment asking me to further explain the almighty Twang.

Merriam -Webster defines it as:

Main Entry: 1twang
Pronunciation: \ˈtwaŋ\
Function: noun
Etymology: imitative
Date: circa 1553
1 : a harsh quick ringing sound like that of a plucked banjo string
2 a : nasal speech or resonance b : the characteristic speech of a region, locality, or group of people
3 a : an act of plucking b : pang, twinge
— twangy \ˈtwaŋ-ē\ adjective

Still a little unsure of the twang?

Just think of Ryan & Maci from MTV's Teen Mom.... and the fact that they're kids name is Bentley yet they call him "Behhhn-laaay"

OR

Think about any song by Justin Moore, particularly this one...

Still don't got it?

Just imagine any of the above saying "Fingerrr Leckin' Gooood"

I for one do not have a twang.
I have noticed, however, that when I'm around Ben
I tend to get a little twangy.
He probably thinks I'm mocking him,
but I'm just going to file it under "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."

Little Thing 42

"I'm from New Orleans... I had to be something."

Watching Behind the Music: Lil Wayne & realizing how incredibly intelligent and well spoken he is.

Strength in Numbers

Remember this handsome little thing that made me smile?

Well, our family is asking for your prayers.
Little Ethan stopped breathing for a bit yesterday,
and is in ICU at Texas Children's Hospital
as of now.

I just ask that you keep
Ethan in your thoughts and prayers today
& I will update as soon as I know anything.

Dixie Does ...BLANK!

First off... I had beignets for breakfast. Need I explain why I'm such a fabulous mood?

UPDATE: Thanks to my Southern Soul Sister Summer (S much?) for explaining in the comments how to properly pronounce beignets!

Secondly, I'm getting my dixie-lovin' booty on the proverbial bandwagon and doing the lovely Lauren's Fill In the Blank Friday. Eeee! So excited...

1. If I could medal in an Olympic event it would be something from the Summer Olympics. The cold-weather boycott is back up and running - who wants to practice in the cold all day? Maybe I could be a gymnast or a diver - I'd like to fly through the air.

2. If I was stranded on a deserted island I'd take a handsome twangy manly boy to get on that man stuff, my Olliekins, my cameras, and a sketchbook... oh and a boat?

3. Creepers & Crowds are my most irrational fear.

4. I'd rather sweat everyday, than freeze everyday. ((betcha didn't see that one coming did ya?))

5. I am completely and utterly excited about my 3 day weekend of productivity ahead.

6. I should really be listening to an upbeat mix-tape to complement my great "It's Friday, Biatches!" mood.

7. One of my favorite things in all the world is hanging out with family on the holidays - when everyone's all worked up and got their funny pants on. Everyone gets so animated and tells hilarious stories until we're all out of breath from laughing so hard.

Little Thing 41

Waking up at 5 am and noticing that the ice and frost coating everything makes it look as though my world has been sprinkled the finest white glitter - and temporarily puts my cold-weather boycott on hold.

Miss DD

Hurrrrr she is folks.

About a month ago, I went to my new favorite shoppers-disneyland, Perkins Rowe, and picked up this little lady at the UrbOut.

Since then... I've taken a grand total of 2 photos!!
Yes. Me. The girl who photographs... shoes, half-eaten cheeseburgers, gum on the sidewalk...
um everything.
Two. Photos.

I'm not quite sure why
But I'm somehow uber intimidated by
this dinky plastic camera.

Do any of y'all do photography with a Diana or a Holga?
Any advice?
Any tips?
Any inspiration or photo assignments to kick my butt into gear?

That King Cake Baby Jesus - He's such a sneak!

While I've been getting my party gras on, I couldn't help but notice that King Cake Baby Jesus was missing in action! I kept calling his cell and texting him - but no response. I thought "Hey...Maybe he's at another parade or the musics too loud....or maybe in the chaos of trying to catch beads, his phone got trampled or...." Well, the list goes on.

Just as I was getting worried, I got an e-mail from my bud Phil.
Turns out that sneaky you-know-what KCBJ made his way over to visit Philly T for a bit.

Phil included some photos...
Check em out.

Clockwise from the Top Left:

1. "Baby riding on the horn of a unicorn. The awesomeness explains itself."
2. "Baby on Space Needle- it's not a trip to Seattle without seeing the Space Needle, right?"
3. "Baby cozy-ing up in the UW Snuggie."
4. "Let me see yo grill, baby style."

Everything You've Got

Do me a favor, will ya?

Today and Tomorrow,
Send everything you've got

Your love.
Your hope.
Your wishes.

Your dreams.
Your prayers.

Tween Confessions

Confession y'all...

I love me some Disney Tweeners.
I do - well the sassy, wholesome ones at least.
((Miley need not apply.))

So tonight I'm going through my iTunes library - sorting through the most random mix of genres and trying to assemble some sort of cohesive mix for a few people that make my heart go thump thump thump. This Demi Lovato song just came up in shuffle - and its just one of those really simple songs with lyrics that make you go *le sigh* Once I found this tres adorable video of Miss Lovato singing it - I just had to share.

Before I fall too fast
Kiss me quick
But make it last
So i can see how badly this will hurt me
When you say good bye

Keep it sweet
Keep it slow
Let the future pass
And don't let go
But tonight i could fall to soon under this beautiful moonlight

But you're so hypnotizing
You got me laughing while i sing
You got me smiling in my sleep
And I can see this unraveling
And your love is where im falling
But please don't catch me

See this heart
Wont settle down
Like a child running scared from a clown
I'm terrified of what you'll do
my stomach screams just when I look at you

Run far away
So I can breathe
Even though you're far from suffocating me
I can't set my hopes to high
Cuz every hello ends with a goodbye

But you're so hypnotizing
You've got me laughing while I sing
You've got me smiling in my sleep
And I can see this unraveling
Your love is where im falling
But please don't catch me

So now you see
Why I'm scared
I cant open up my heart without a care
But here i go
Its what i feel
and for the first time in my life i know its real

But you're so hypnotizing
You've got me laughing while I sing
You've get me smiling in my sleep
And i can see this unraveling
And your love is where im falling
So please don't catch me

And if this is love
Please don't break me
I'm giving up
So just catch me

Lombardi Gras Time!

Really y'all... It's Monday afternoon and I'm still speechless.

and I'm not quite sure that anything needs to be said.

Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints.
Congratulations to the city of New Orleans.
Congratulations to the state of Louisiana.
& Congratulations to each and every fellow Saints fan.

We believed when no one else did.
And we have fulfilled our destiny.
We are champions.

Ps. Did I mention that my first born is going to be named Porter Brees?
Holy Wow on that interception, Mr. Porter.

Somedays WeHeartIt.com reads my mind....

((via WeHeartIt))

Sometimes I daydream about how fun it might be just to go on an impromptu trip to no where in particular - just to unplug, skip out on work, and get rid of the map.

Maybe it's just Thursday
and I'm itching to have a weekend
filled with adventure.

Spending my Saturday with Ben at Jungle Gardens...
