"A Happy Family Is But An Earlier Heaven"

Maybe its because everyone in my family pokes fun at me for taking too many photos (especially of my food) or maybe it's because I was having too good of a time to worry about it, but I barely took any photos of my cousin Katie's wedding a few weeks ago in Birmingham.

Luckily for me (and you!) I'm blessed with a talented Uncle Eric who takes some of the most beautiful photos - Honestly, I swooooon over his landscapes.

After checking Facebook every day for the past two weeks, I saw that he finally put up his photos from the wedding.

Here are a few of my favorites...

The Bride

My two gorgeous cousins, Alayne & Katie

My Uncle Ed, Katie, & My Aunt Kathy

One of my most definite favorites - My Grandmaw & Katie

Little Nathan...

and his cousin, Aslan.

The wedding party on the back porch

and my ABSOLUTE favorite of Katie & Park

Sunrise Cigarettes

Who: Sons of William

What: "Sunrise Cigarettes"

Why: These kids are the ULTIMATE. I don't even know how to convey what this band is for me. They were one of the first local bands that I fell in love with. It's southern rock and roll at its best. I could tell you so much about them but I'll save bits of that as I feature more of their songs. Right now, I'll share Sunrise Cigarettes with y'all, as it was the first song I heard by Sons of William. And I'll throw in that I often sell their merchandise at Louisiana shows - so if you're ever near a show, stop in and tell me hi!

More: Had to include these just cause I love the photos so much... These are from a SOW/Marc Broussard show at the Soul Kitchen in Mobile, AL back in 2006.

Now would be the time to comment...

So dear Internet, this is the part where I ask for your help.
And below is where you graciously offer it up...and lots of it.

I've begun to compile a Southern Wish List of sorts - small towns, beautiful cottage lined streets, mom and pop eateries, wacky tourist attractions, historic bed and breakfasts, etc etc etc - all places and things that I'm dying to experience. It'll be an ongoing list of sorts and we'll see how much I can get through before complete and utter exhaustion sets in.

So tell me...what do YOU think I need to experience? Where should I go? What should I eat? What are your favorite places? And they don't havvve to be in just Louisiana. What about Texas? Alabama? Arkansas? Mississippi? Florida? Georgia?
