For the Love of Birthday Cake!

I'm back today for a very special occasion.
Every once in a while, you meet people in life who just seem click with you.
Kindred spirits who know how to make you smile and who always seems to be there.

And you just have to thank the universe for them - thank the universe for bringing them into this world and eventually into your life.

Twenty-one years ago today, the universe brought this beautifully talented and amazing lady into the world.

and thank goodness for it!

NOW, if you havent already done so - get on over to her blog and leave her some beautiful birthday wishes!

Who really likes March anyways?

I sure as heck dont.
Or maybe I just didnt like posting this month.
Oops?!

This month has had its crazy ups and downs
More about all of that later.
But Ive been using this time,
to really focus on what makes me happy.

My new motto is
"It works until it doesn't."
Its all about cutting your losses and just moving on.

But one thing that always does it for me?
A night at the Tap Room with the Secret Society.

Holy Moly... The Hottness.

Post pre-birthday lunch with Lyla (figured that one out?), she and I were doing our usual "scan facebook on two computers that are 10 feet apart & call each other over to show our findings" thing when she called me over to see some engagement photos. Assuming the photos were an atrocious hot-mess (seeing as how we live for for the tacky, absurd, and awful), I ran over - oh the contrary! Lyla went to Aveda with the Bride-to-Be and vouches that this gorgeous girl with the gorgeous fiance in these gorgeous photos by this insanely talented photographer is super sweet and incredibly nice. Ahhh, of course.

As a photography geek, I'm professing my love for this one - the field, the light, the pose... everything. It's absolute perfection.

Click here to see the rest of the photos from the session and to read a little bit about the couple and the location (Ville Platte, y'all!).

And be sure to check out the rest of Courtney Dellafiora's blog. The things this woman can do with natural light - it's pure insanity. Oh, yeah - she's never taken a class or read a photography book in her life. Jealous much?!
